Yesterday I got a call from the Ohio Taxation department simply stating:
Hi, this is agent [tax reaper],
I’m looking for [the boss].
This is the Criminal Investigation for Ohio Taxation Department(Or something like that).
Our admin — who just came back from a 5 day struggle with her little girl having a massive flu-thing — is freaking out because of the sudden and absolute power they have over the company. We have no formal letter stating we owe such and such. We haven’t been given a notice until yesterday that we owe such amount. Said such amount isn’t even the remaining balance but more!
From what she’s told me, the taxation department goes through a change of administration every X years. The last one happened in October 2011. From that point, the new administration seems to have A) lost — or wiped — our tax records; B) haven’t kept tabs on our tax submissions since then; and C) are demanding immediate payment without proper procedures — or so we say — least we get sticky’d with a poster saying “We don’t pay taxes. We’re bad guys. We’re thieves. Don’t do business with us.”
Welcome to America. Proud enforcer of Idiocracy. Fuck you!
God fucking damn my job is shit, so here’s the basic layout:
First there is this supermodel chick wannabe chick. Yeah okay she is pretty hot but she is so fucking useless. She constantly fixing her hair and whining like a bitch. She is dumb as a box of rocks and I still find it surprising she…
I’ve transfered our development website to our main using a one-for-one copy method. Despite this, something is failing miserably. I can’t understand… One page template isn’t rendering the HTML it should be on our live site, but the development one is flawless. The difference? That’s the problem, there isn’t any.
All permissions are accounted for
The files are a straight copy from dev
The database is a straight copy from dev
wp-config.php points to the right place
All database entries have been corrected to live
The database works as it should. The real issue is our article page for the blog. It’s rendering things it shouldn’t be. It’s rendering things it wasn’t in dev. Seems like it would be an issue with overrides in my custom theme but everything that manipulates the theme checks out on both ends. MD5Sum checks out on all files…
Because I love scripting. And because sometimes IRC channels just get filled with shit.
Mod: !adf invoke [USER…] Law: Anti-Drama Law has been invoked. The riot squad has been dispatched, all users are asked to stay clear. Law <whisper> [USER…]: Lay down the conversation, and surrender you hate. Anti-Drama Law is in effect and you are being warned for causing unwanted turmoil. Mod: !adf warn [USER…] Law: The is a public warning, drama will not be tolerated. Law <whisper> [USER…]: Resistance will be punished. Continuing this behaviour will result in a kick. Multiple offences will result in a ban. Mod: !adf enforce [USER…] Law <kick> [USER…] (Anti Drama Law) Law: ADL has been enacted. Mod: !adf dismiss [USER…] Law: [USER…] has surrenders their hate and will no longer be removed upon enforcement.
Users would also be able to use ADL as a vote based system. It would vary a bit as I still plot it out. In essence though:
User1: !adl invoke [USER…] Law <whisper> User1: You have declared Anti-Drama Law on [USER…]. Note that any form of abuse using this system will be severely reprimanded.
I think a minimum of 3-5 votes to kick would be acceptable. All user interaction with ADL would be recorded and send to the mods. And upon abuse:
Mod: !adl abuse [USER…] Law: User invoked Anti-Drama Law is for keeping peace within the channel when moderators or admins are not present. Any and all abuse of the system is not tolerated. Law: Removing [USER…] for abusing the system.
Now if only I could sit down and learn how to do that.
